Ultracure or Sixty Primerless — an honest comparison
Both bond vehicle and campervan windows, both are FMVSS 212 tested and TÜV crash tested, and both give a 1 hour drive-away on dual-airbag vehicles. What differs is how the bond is prepared.
Ultracure — the 3-step primed system (wipe → primer → bond). The primer conditions the surface and adds a visible, controlled preparation stage, so the finished bond is less sensitive to how thoroughly the surfaces were cleaned. In return it is three stages rather than one, the primer has a flash-off time to observe and a limited life once opened, and as an isocyanate-containing polyurethane it carries a REACH diisocyanate training requirement for professional and industrial users.
Sixty Primerless (SixtyHV) — the 1-step SiMP system. Bonds direct to glass, painted metal, plastics and GRP with no primer. Solvent free, isocyanate free, odourless, no hazard symbol and no REACH training obligation, with fewer stages to sequence. In return, with no primer in the process the bond depends entirely on the surfaces being properly cleaned and degreased first — there is no priming stage to compensate for incomplete preparation.
